We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) base in Bargoed. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and is committed to helping pupils overcome barriers to learning, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils, helping them engage with learning.
* Assist in delivering tailored interventions for students with SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health) needs.
* Work closely with teachers and support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
* Support pupils with managing their emotions and behaviour effectively.
* Encourage and promote independence, resilience, and self-confidence in learners.
* Assist with planning and delivering engaging activities that meet individual needs.
* Maintain accurate records and contribute to reports on student progress.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* Experience working with children, ideally in a PRU or SEN setting.
* A passion for supporting young people with additional learning needs.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* The ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
* A proactive and patient approach to managing behaviour and learning challenges.
* A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant, CACHE, or equivalent) – desirable but not essential.
