A client within the Public Sector based in the East Midlands is currently recruiting for a Food Safety Inspector to join their team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full-time, temporary position, with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a food safety environment. The Role Key purpose of the role is to conduct food hygiene inspections of Category A & D premises, ensuring compliance with food safety legislation and identifying potential health and safety hazards.Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to: Carrying out statutory food safety inspections at local businesses in accordance with current law, procedures, policies, and guidance, including occasional work outside normal hours.
Using problem-solving skills to assess risks, make decisions, and take action to ensure businesses comply with relevant laws.
Effectively managing workloads and maintaining accurate and comprehensive records of inspections, audits, and enforcement actions.
The Candidate To be considered for this role, you will require: Understanding of the Food Law Code of Practice Competency Framework, demonstrating the ability to carry out relevant official controls (e.g., inspection, audit, sampling, monitoring, surveillance, and verification).
