The role is part of the Hall Maintenance Team for the Grade 1 listed, Raynham Hall and is responsible to the House Manager.
The Carpenter/Maintenance Person will support the existing Hall Maintenance Team, ensuring work is delivered within agreed timescales, budget and to the required standard.
Responsibilities:
1. Carrying out planned works and maintenance under the direction of the House Manager.
2. Supporting and assisting the Hall Maintenance Team in the repair and maintenance of the interior and exterior of the Hall and all its contents.
3. Repairing and fabricating sash and casement windows and doors.
4. Ensuring that the Company’s policy and directives, codes of practice and regulations are complied with.
5. Planning, prioritizing, and executing carpentry work as required and within agreed timescales.
6. Dealing with brickwork, decorating, roof, groundwork and general maintenance repairs.
7. Ensuring that Health and Safety Regulations are met, and Estate Health & Safety requirements are adhered to.
8. Ensuring that all work is carried out in accordance with relevant risk assessments and that risks are mitigated so work is carried out safely.
9. Supporting the Raynham Hall Maintenance Team to inspect the property to agree specified works within the agreed approach to refurbishment.
10. Advising the House Manager on property defects on void properties when required.
11. Undertaking general building and maintenance work within the Raynham Estate, including preparing the estate for events.
Additional Skills:
* Previous experience in general building and property renovation. Carpentry and woodworking skills are essential.
* The ability to deliver high quality work within an appropriate timescale.
* Good planning skills with the ability to multi-task.
* Knowledge of listed buildings and conservation techniques.
* The ability to work from verbal and written instructions.
* A positive attitude and the ability to work calmly under pressure whilst keeping an eye on the details.
* Good verbal communication skills with people at all levels.
* Full drivers’ licence and own transport.
* Hardworking, diligent, and responsible.
* Enjoying working in a team.
* Physically fit and active – there is a degree of lifting and moving of heavy objects sometimes required.
* The ability to work on their own initiative.
* Carrying out checks on the hall and following a maintenance inspection programme.
* Helping to manage contractors within the premises.
* Running a Planned Preventative Maintenance Schedule.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: £12.00-£15.00 per hour
