Property Lawyers – Energy & Infrastructure, Scotland
We are seeking experienced Senior Property Lawyers to join the Energy & Infrastructure team of a leading multinational law firm specializing in energy, infrastructure, real estate, and corporate law. This role can be based in Glasgow, Aberdeen or Edinburgh and offers the opportunity to work on high-profile, nationally significant projects within a collaborative and forward-thinking team.
The team is one of the largest dedicated property law groups in the UK, offering deep sector expertise and a commercial approach that delivers clear, practical advice. They support a diverse range of clients across the energy and infrastructure sectors, including landowners, developers, funders, and investors.
From offshore wind farms to EV charging infrastructure, they specialise in providing end-to-end legal support, ensuring clients receive timely and strategic guidance on their projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Advising on Property Law & Transactions – Advise on land acquisition, leases, wayleaves, easements, and project financing for energy and infrastructure developments.
* Project Support & Risk Management – Collaborate with developers, investors, and public authorities to ensure compliance with Scottish property law and mitigate risks.
* Stakeholder Engagement & Client Relations – Develop strong relationships with clients, regulators, and industry bodies, providing strategic guidance on complex projects.
* Business Development & Market Growth – Support tenders, proposals, and marketing efforts to expand the firm’s energy and infrastructure practice.
* Collaboration & Team Leadership – Work cross-functionally with planning, corporate, and environmental teams while mentoring junior lawyers and contributing to knowledge-sharing.
Requirements:
* Scottish-qualified lawyer with extensive experience in real estate/property law, ideally within energy or infrastructure projects.
* Proven expertise in land acquisition, leases, wayleaves, easements, and property transactions for renewable energy and major infrastructure projects.
* Commercially minded and client-focused, with a strong track record in business development and stakeholder engagement.
* Excellent legal drafting, negotiation, and risk management skills, with the ability to handle complex, high-value transactions.
* Team player and leader, capable of mentoring junior lawyers, collaborating across departments, and contributing to the firm’s strategic growth.
