About the role:
Due to continued growth plans, we are looking to hire Warehouse Operatives to join our picking and dispatch teams in Avonmouth.
As a Warehouse Operative, supporting the Warehouse Supervisory team, you will work in a fast-paced environment being responsible for, and cross-trained, in the below areas of responsibility.
Warehouse duties:
* Stock control activities including stock put aways and stock movements.
* Picking – main warehouse or MEZZ floor (small bin picking) areas.
* Assisting with general warehouse housekeeping activity as required, which may include overtime and weekend work.
General abilities required for day-to-day operations:
* Drive the 3 types of forklifts (if unqualified, in-house training will be provided).
* Use all handling aids as required – electric and manual.
* Move and/or rearrange stock (assorted boxes - size and weight) by either manual handling or lifting equipment.
* Operate and pick from airport ladders.
* IT skills, computer literacy required (initial training will be given) on the relevant Warehouse Management Systems and MS Office applications.
* Work accurately with attention to detail, as part of a team or on your own.
* Adhere to strict timelines especially picking/goods in priorities.
* Communicate verbally and in writing with internal and external agencies.
* Problem solve any immediate picking, put-away, goods in, or dispatch issues.
* Ensure effective housekeeping measures are maintained.
* Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety policies and procedures throughout the warehouse.
