Lecturer in Midwifery three-month fixed term secondment from clinical practice in the NHS
We would like you to share your skills and experience to join our Midwifery team in the School of Education, Sport and Health Sciences, where you will play a crucial role in the development of our Midwifery Apprenticeship as your core responsibility. This new apprenticeship is an important development for the School, and you will take on a key role in curriculum development and ensuring adherence to the Midwife apprenticeship standards, NMC standards and University of Brighton academic standards. During this fixed term contract, you will have the opportunity to be part of a creative team on our Falmer campus. We would like to recruit someone with strong professional experience as a Midwife.
Essential
To be successful in this post, you should have:
* Current NMC registration as a Midwife
* A good first degree relevant to Midwifery
* An advanced qualification (e.g. a Masters degree) or commitment to obtaining one with an equivalent level of professional experience
* Up-to-date, sound knowledge of current developments in health and midwifery including current clinical, professional, leadership and policy developments and the range of generic skills required to teach the subject
* Understanding of academic and award standards and the range and level of knowledge and skills, both subject-specific and generic, which the programme is intended to foster
* Experience in using learning technologies for effective use in teaching, learning and assessment.
Desirable
* Experience of curriculum development at degree level or above
* Understanding and experience in delivering and assessing apprenticeships
* Experience of leading and implementing creative approaches to developing midwifery teaching and learning
* Active membership of national or international professional organisations or research networks to promote subject area.
This post is a fixed term 0.6 FTE role for three months to lead the development of a Midwifery Apprenticeship.
