Job description: We are looking for an Effluent Team Leader to manage the day to day operation of the sites effluent treatment plant within our Yogurts and Desserts facility at Market Drayton. The purpose of the role is to carry out line manager tasks for the operational team responsible for the operation of equipment making up the effluent treatment plant and to ensure the plant runs efficiently and in compliance with the Trade Effluent Consent and environmental permitting regulations. Working hours Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week. Responsibilities Manage the team and provide leadership in the process of trouble shooting problem areas within the treatment process plant and ensure measures are put in place to ensure compliance with permitting regulations. Ensure the monitoring and testing of the plant (discharge water etc.) is carried out as set out in company policy and where necessary arrange for action to address out of specification results. Communicate effectively with a diverse range of people; regulators, senior managers, factory operatives and ensure problems/rectifications are reported effectively. Where necessary escalate issues to senior management to ensure all notifications required to EA are carried out in a timely manner. Propose to management and engineering teams any required engineering and routine maintenance to ensure consistency of operation. Recommend improvements to the both engineering and operational teams to ensure the plant is operating at the highest possible efficiency. Ensure at all times the site safety regulations are adhered to and where necessary raise awareness of hazards through the site's reporting mechanisms. Manage communications to the effluent team to ensure they are following the latest safety directions. Ensure all records are updated in the required timescale in a clear and consistent way to ensure compliance with permitting regulations is fully recorded. Knowledge of safe working practices and dairy skills Specialist training in effluent plant operation and knowledge of how to comply with EA consent limits.
