We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated staff to join our Occupational therapy department to help us ensure that we meet the Trust’s vision to provide the best care for every patient.
.Our current opportunity sits within the Acute Response Team.
The Acute Response Team provides rapid, focussed OT assessment and interventions across 2 diverse adult in-patient settings: Older People's Medicine and General Medicine. No two days are the same, so if you like variety, this could be the role for you.
The post holder will work as part of the Multidisciplinary Team and if at Band 4 level will manage a small delegated caseload of their own.
Should you wish to apply as a Band 3 and progress to Band 4, we will encourage you to do so through completing the Foundation Degree programme as part of your role and then to complete the necessary clinical competencies to move up to Band 4 and work as an Assistant Practitioner.
We will support you to develop current/ new skills with access to in-service training and professional development. You will receive supervision and annual appraisal; have access to support and encouragement to take an active role within your own continuing professional development.

Clinical
1. To manage a delegated workload efficiently and effectively with regard to clinical priorities and use of time, in accordance with agreed guidance/care pathways.
2. To collect relevant patient information from a variety of sources to assist with clinical prioritisation and patient management e.g. ward handovers, observation charts, medical and nursing records, patients and MDT colleagues.
3. To use good communication to gain valid informed consent prior to undertaking any clinical tasks. With support, to work within the legal framework with patients who lack the capacity to consent to treatment.
4. To establish and maintain appropriate therapeutic relationships with patients and carers incorporating motivation, encouragement and confidence building.
