Purpose of the Role:
To manage adjusters in the Portfolio Package Property Complex team and provide oversight of the adjusters in the Property Express Team handling Package Portfolio claims. To drive best practice claims handling performance both in terms of optimal claims outcomes and customer service, and the technical and professional development of their team.
How you will make an impact:
* Manage the allocation of claims within their Complex team of adjusters.
* Provide a technical referral point for team members and manage performance.
* Keep the UK Head of Property Claims advised of key Complex loss developments and wider Complex trends.
* Execute strategic initiatives within their Complex team.
* Ensure ‘Best Practice’ is maintained within their Complex and Express teams.
* Drive performance through required criteria.
* Ensure claims are accurately assessed and proactively reserved within agreed service levels.
* Embed use of balance scorecard/KPIs within team.
* Be the primary contact for the main Package Programs / TPA’s.
* Work closely with the main adjustment firms and vendors providing services on the Package book of business. This will include regular meetings to address service levels and look at ways to continually improve operational efficiency.
* Have complete oversight of accounts with a delegated authority and ensure bordereau’s are being managed correctly. This includes working closely with the bordereau processing team.
* Provide underwriters with regular claims data for the programs to include claims volumes, incurred movements and declinatures.
* Assist underwriters with providing claims marketing material that can be used as they try and attract and retain business.
* Ensure all actions are taken to avoid complaints and should complaints materialise ensure they are dealt with quickly, appropriately and efficiently.
* Produce Monthly and Quarterly claims metrics.
What you'll need to succeed:
* Fully developed specialist knowledge in Package Portfolio SME technical claims topics.
* Strong stakeholder management experience, both internal (underwriting, distribution, actuarial, finance and executive management) and external (brokers, MGA’s and major account clients).
* Policy language skills enabling accurate and consistent policy wording interpretation.
* A strong knowledge of legal / regulatory and litigation / procedural requirements.
* Experience in negotiation, mediation, arbitration and ADR skills.
* Experience in conducting technical claims audits and effectively following up on findings.
