Post: Teacher of Art & DT
Grade: MPS/UPS
Responsible to: Head of Department
Start date: 1 September 2025
Working hours: Full Time
Would you like to work in a “harmonious community” where “pupils are keen to learn and respectful to all”? (Ofsted). Would you like to work at a forward-thinking Grammar School providing students an opportunity to improve their life chances? The candidate should be confident that Borden is a successful, exciting, and supportive place to work.
The Art and Design Technology department is successful in a variety of areas. Examination performance in GCSE is strong and consistently high. Art and DT are established choices for students undertaking their options in Year 9. At GCSE, the departments offer GCSE Art and Design and Product Design. A number of students continue to study either Art, Photography, or Three Dimensional Design at Advanced level. In recent years, students from our partner schools have also supplemented the numbers of our own students studying Advanced Level courses.
The Art rooms and DT workshops are a hive of activity throughout the school day. The department is supported by a full-time technician. This is a post for a suitably enthusiastic and qualified teacher, who is committed to achieving high standards in all areas of school life, and can demonstrate the potential to contribute a great deal to the future development of Borden Grammar School.
Closing date: Midday on Tuesday 6th May with interviews taking place w/c 11th May.
Interested candidates are welcome to telephone the school or to arrange a visit to the school - please ask to speak to Mrs. K Murphy, HR Assistant to make arrangements.
Please note we do not accept CVs.
