About the role
Activ is committed to empowering people with disabilities to live independently through rewarding employment in our social enterprises—like Property Care, Cleaning, Indoor Plant Rental, and Timber Manufacturing. We’re looking for a driven, experienced Employment Services Manager to lead our team in supporting employees with disabilities. You’ll oversee daily operations, guide career development, facilitate training, and build strong relationships to create employment pathways. Reporting to the Head of Strategic Operations, you’ll play a pivotal role in Activ’s mission, advocating for inclusion and providing pathways to sustainable employment.
A typical day in the role may look like……
9. Leadership and Team Support: Lead and mentor Employment Coordinators, ensuring effective employee support, development, and compliance with the Supported Wage System (SWS).
10. Recruitment & Onboarding: Manage employee onboarding, funding, and alignment with Activ’s goals, working with external partners to build a pipeline of candidates.
11. Training & Development: Develop training programs to upskill employees, fostering a path to open employment.
12. Stakeholder Engagement: Build partnerships with schools, vocational centres, and advocacy groups to advocate for disability inclusion and employment.
13. Program Oversight & Compliance: Ensure compliance with employment legislation, the Disability Discrimination Act, and NDIS standards, while maintaining a safe, diverse, and inclusive workplace.
The ideal candidate will have:-
14. Previous experience in a managerial role in employment services or a related field, preferably with experience in disability employment programs.
15. Demonstrated success in implementing employment programs, strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and knowledge of employment laws.
16. Tertiary qualification in Community Services or a related field is desirable.
