Caterpillar’s Building Construction Products (BCP) division is hiring a Retail Marketing Manager- EAME to develop product / marketing/distribution strategies specifically relating to the retail transformation of Caterpillar and our dealers as we further develop our focus on serving the retail customer across EAME territories. Develops Retail Transformation Strategy : Leads the retail transformation journey, which includes retail strategy, execution, and process creation. Establishes significant rigor and process to partner with dealers in the transformation of the Caterpillar and dealer approach to the retail customer segment, which represents over 50% of the entire CI market opportunity. Incumbent is intensely focused on this critical transformation to ensure Caterpillar’s appropriate positioning and to drive a competitive advantage for Caterpillar with hard-to-reach customers. Establishes boundaries for strategic market analysis and segments industry into distinct markets, grouping customers with similar product/service needs, buying processes and value definitions. Evaluates business attractiveness to assess profit potential of market segments, while uncovering retail focused approaches intended to improve Caterpillar and dealer understanding of retail customers. Analyzes potential competitive advantage through various strategies and long-term critical projects in partnership with our dealer network. Creates implementation plans for approved strategic retail programs. Leads Marketing Talent Development : Provides recruiting and hiring strategy and execution plans for our future retail and product marketing leaders. Creates hiring plans and continuity plans with diversity and inclusion in mind to continue to improve the quality and diversity of our future field and marketing leaders. Manages 3 future leaders and creates 2-year development plans for each based upon employee needs, strengths, and backgrounds. Additionally manages intern program as a proving ground for future marketing leaders. Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Leading the daily work and strategic direction of 3-5 field based employees focused on Caterpillar and Retail Transformation execution in EAME. Implementation of the 5 Step Retail Strategy focused on Customer Needs and the Retail Journey at dealers across EAME. Engagement and Development of ASSC's (Authorized Sales and Service Centers) Managing a seven figure budget for dealer initiatives aimed at expanding retail sales of prime products and parts and service Developing and managing new projects to support dealer sales and profitability Hiring, developing, and training a team to help achieve desired results Managing growth plans in cooperation with dealers in their retail transformation Responsibility for Net Loyalty Scores, and new customer growth Responsibility for Expansion of Physical Dealer Coverage Support of the implementation of online sales platforms and integration with Shop.cat.com Representing CI on Marketing and Sales Excellence Program enhancements Supporting the retail aftermarket framework and initiatives Basic Qualifications: University degree and extensive product/market knowledge Senior level background of retail/distribution experience Extensive experience in dealer/sales network roles Experience in dealer/sales financial management, understanding profitability drivers and tactics for cost control Leadership experience Good human relations, organization, and communication skills Top candidates will also have: Experience in Caterpillar/Dealer retail business or initiatives Strong interest and track record of analytics, strategic vision Extensive project management and people management skills Pending the number of applications, the criteria for the position may be enhanced to facilitate shortlisting.
