We are looking for an Events & Community Manager to join our team. This newly created role is an exciting opportunity for this award-winning, innovative and well-established business to grow its income streams.
This role has two key areas of focus:
Events
Wake The Tiger hosts a diverse range of exclusive-use events and private room hires, from corporate away days to all-out party celebrations for anywhere up to 600 guests all year round. We are looking for an experienced Event Manager to lead and deliver consistent and exceptional service for our clients, right from prospecting to execution. The successful candidate will have management experience in event coordination and operations, impeccable communication, and a diverse range of event experience.
Community
Engagement with the local community is hugely important to us as an organisation. We take our vision seriously and this plays a vital part of that. Although the term ‘Community’ is wide-reaching, there are two specific areas of focus:
* Schools - Wake The Tiger has developed an Education Programme and we are now in a position to share this far and wide, engaging with as many different education systems (schools, home schooling, SEND schools etc) who can benefit from this free resource and look to build long-term relationships with these Educators.
* Charity - Wake The Tiger has a target to invest a minimum of 1% of our revenue to charitable causes. The right candidate will be key to working with key stakeholders to develop and execute a strategy which sees a positive change in the local community.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Being someone who lives and breathes exceptional guest experience and has a passion for the events industry.
* Ensuring all events are delivered to the brand standards and exceeding client expectations.
* Managing a variety of events, including corporate, weddings, charity, ticketed and private parties.
* Communicating with all relevant departments to deliver the event plan as agreed with our clients.
* Ensuring the house standards are maintained, presentation is always kept at the highest levels and proactively identifying areas of improvement or refinement.
* Keyholder responsibilities.
* Proactively seeking feedback from clients to ensure we are constantly learning and improving.
* Supporting teams to handle any complaints and escalating where necessary.
* Managing events end to end, from prospecting to delivery.
* Building strong relationships within the local events industry and with various organisations including Visit West, sharing knowledge and expertise.
* Creating outreach strategies to engage in the local community.
* Manage our community ticket programme.
* Work closely with the marketing team on branding, messaging and other opportunities.
SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES
* At least 3 years sales experience from lead generation to conversion.
* At least 2 years experience delivering a variety of events.
* Energy, enthusiasm, and great customer service.
* Excellent time management and organisational skills.
* Fantastic communication skills.
* Budget and target delivery experience.
* Understanding that the hours are varied. Although office hours are 9am-5pm Monday to Friday, the successful candidate will be required to work the events, which requires evenings, weekends, and public holidays working. You will receive days in lieu on these occasions.
* First aid trained.
* Hold a personal license.
* Professional qualifications in events and/or project management.
