We’re supporting our client, a leading CNC company based in Rotherham, who are looking for a Service Engineer to join their growing team. The successful Service Engineer will have a mechanical engineering qualification and specialist health and safety training.
Position Overview: As a Service Engineer, you'll be involved in the preparation, modification, maintenance, repair and installation of CNC rotary tables and company products, both at customer sites and in the workshop. Your primary focus will be on carrying out service engineer activities including installation and/or service of company products.
Responsibilities for Service Engineer:
* To maintain a high standard of customer service and communications, both face to face and by telephone.
* To carry out table inspections to determine work required.
* To prepare new tables in the company workshop prior to dispatch to customer locations for installation including more complex conversion work.
* To undertake table refurbishments and rebuilds for customers and in-house for part exchange or second-hand stock.
* To carry out adjustments to products using surface grinding wheels.
* To fit and test cables which have been designed and manufactured.
* To provide mechanical and electrical maintenance and repair on a range of other company products including tooling and tool presetters.
* To identify parts needed for the completion of work using bespoke software and company procedures.
* To provide high level technical guidance on company products including installation and repair requirements.
* To carry out administration related to customer site visits including reports on work carried out and records of time and consumables used for invoicing purposes.
* To provide one to one coaching on specific technical processes for less experienced service engineers and apprentices when requested by the Service Manager.
* To undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by your line manager.
About You:
* Mechanical Engineering qualifications to Level 3 (Apprenticeship)
* Health and Safety training including use of machinery and tools, manual handling, COSHH, trip and drop hazards.
* Problem solving using applied engineering and maintenance knowledge
* Manual dexterity
* Attention to detail
* Awareness of engineering disciplines and principles
* Mathematics GCSE at Grade C or 4 and above
* Good communication skills are desirable
* Experience of dealing with customers is desirable
* Electrical Engineering qualifications are desirable
* Previous engineering experience or training is desirable
