Overview:
The MI Analyst, reporting to the Operations Director, will be a core pillar of the business's IT/Data function, leveraging insights from our data. The analyst will ensure all business functions receive decision-enabling information through periodic reporting and ad hoc exercises, while managing competing projects and deadlines.
This role offers the opportunity to drive the business's analytical reports and collaborate with the Managing and Operations Directors to create an end-to-end reporting suite for critical decision-making and future forecasting.
Responsibilities:
* Develop financial models to assist management in decision-making and reporting.
* Manage the ongoing business performance forecasting cycle.
* Investigate modelling and forecast assumptions to improve output accuracy.
* Develop and maintain the company’s reporting capability, including data architecture.
* Prepare financial and non-financial analyses.
* Analyse and report on key performance indicators.
* Assist in the development and improvement of business systems.
* Produce reports from business systems using Power BI to deliver insights into performance.
* Identify gaps in data collection processes and deliver requirements for change.
* Become a champion/master user of tools and software for data collection and storage, including SQL, Excel, Power BI, and Microsoft Dynamics.
* Assist colleagues in using reports and tools developed during the rollout process.
* Other ad hoc responsibilities as the role evolves.

* Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a related field: Data science, business analytics, economics, mathematics, or similar fields.
Additional Requirements:
* Experience using Power BI, DAX, and Power Query
* Good knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel
* Fundamental understanding of database language (TSQL)
Desirable:
* Basic programming experience in Python or R for advanced data manipulation
* Experience with Big Data tools like Hadoop, Spark, or BigQuery
* Experience with data warehousing
* Aware of data governance and legal compliance (e.g., GDPR within the UK)
