Registered Lead Nurse - Clinical Education Lead
Henshaws College is looking for a highly motivated and dynamic Lead Nurse with a broad range of nursing knowledge and experience to lead the clinical team in delivering high-quality research-based clinical training and education packages to meet the care needs of students with a wide range of clinical needs.
This is a newly developed role with a large focus on quality and maintaining safe practice.
This role will allow you to access specialist training and supervision to ensure we are providing the most current research-based practice to meet students' holistic and sometimes complex health needs.
Our students are young adults aged 16-25 with a range of learning disabilities. Combining day and residential students along with respite stays requires excellent planning and organizational skills and can present daily challenges making for an exciting role.

Main Duties of the Job
1. Assessing the clinical health needs of students and identifying any gaps in training provision for staff required to safely care for the student.
2. Leading in the development of education and training packages for care staff to undertake delegated health tasks, including assessing competency of staff selected to work with students and developing an action plan when someone has not been assessed as competent.
3. Acting as a source of clinical expertise to other team members, demonstrating clinical reasoning, critical thinking, reflection, and analysis to ensure high-quality service delivery.
4. Providing daily support to the Nursing Associate and Nursing Assistants, organizing workloads and providing line management to members of the team.

Job Responsibilities
1. Be the lead RGN responsible for the organization and timely delivery of the clinical education programme, training, and competency assessing of delegated clinical skills to meet student needs.
2. Compose and deliver training packages to health care and education staff in a variety of settings on a range of clinical/health care subjects with support from the wider clinical team.
3. Work as part of the wider clinical team to provide direct support to students with identified health needs and complete a range of nursing procedures when required.
4. Line manage the Nurse Associate and/or the Nursing Assistants, providing day-to-day support and organizing the workload to ensure an effective service.
5. Be an integral part of the clinical team supporting in developing, implementing, evaluating, and reviewing individualised plans of care, risk assessments, and maintaining the safety of students.
Person Specification
Experience
* Evidence of a recognised teaching qualification and experience of mentoring, supervising, and assessing nursing students.
* Specialist knowledge and experience of developing and delivering training packages for a variety of health/clinical needs to both individuals and groups.
* Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams both internal and external to Henshaws.
Qualifications
* A Registered Nurse with a current NMC PIN Number.

£43,540.12 a year. Uplift: £23.99/£46,156.76 for 3 years when it will be reviewed.
