Trial Balance Consulting is delighted to be engaged by a long-established and highly successful motor dealership, seeking to recruit an experienced Bookkeeper to oversee the daily accounting lifecycle. The position can be offered as either full or part-time (4 days) and will be based on-site near Weston-Super-Mare.
The role works closely with the Dealership Principal and senior management team, and also supports one Finance and Administration Assistant.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Work closely with the Dealership Principal/SMT on all financial projects
2. Lead the day-to-day accounting of the site
3. Monitor cash flow and financial performance
4. Conduct budget analysis and monitor performance
5. Oversee the accounts payable/receivable functions
6. Prepare VAT reports
7. Produce regular management accounts with commentary
8. Maintain liaison with chartered accountants, auditors, and other external stakeholders
9. Oversee payroll administration and processing
Our client values general experience over formal qualifications and is open to applicants who are part-qualified, fully qualified, or qualified through vocational experience. Knowledge of Sage accounting software is ESSENTIAL. Previous supervisory experience and excellent communication skills are required; the role involves working with department managers across the franchise and translating technical accounting procedures into understandable information.
