Job Description
Cpl Healthcare is recruiting for a permanent full-time position based in the Republic of Ireland. The role is for a Consultant in General Adult Psychiatry with a Special Interest in Neuropsychiatry or Psychiatry of Later Life, starting in December 2021.
The successful candidate will lead and develop a multidisciplinary team to support the care of patients with Neuropsychiatric and severe, enduring Psychiatric disorders. The role involves working closely with existing services to provide inpatient mental health services for adults with complex needs, accepting referrals from across Ireland.
Key Responsibilities
* Overall responsibility for psychiatric services to patients and residents, ensuring regulatory compliance.
* Support clinical governance and assist in implementing strategic and operational plans.
* Lead and develop a multidisciplinary clinical team in the inpatient neuropsychiatric service.
* Provide clinical services within a legally compliant framework, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness within budget.
* Contribute to teaching, research, and academic support, collaborating with Trinity College Dublin and University College Dublin.
* Participate in cross-cover for inpatient care and leave.
Reporting Relationship
The post holder reports to the Clinical Director and collaborates closely to ensure comprehensive service provision.
Additional Information
The role is based on a 37-hour workweek with on-call commitments. Candidates must meet the following requirements:
* Full registration with the Irish Medical Council or eligibility for registration.
* At least seven years post-graduation experience.
* Specialist registration as a general adult psychiatrist, with a sub-specialty in Later Life or Neuropsychiatry preferred.
* Management experience or additional responsibilities in clinical areas.
* Ability to lead change, develop clinical services, and teach effectively.
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
* Ability to deliver contracted hours and participate in on-call duties.
