Job Summary:
We are seeking a Paralegal to support a clinical negligence team and heads of department in an established, specialised practice on the Fylde Coast. Benefits include flexible working, 22 days holiday plus bank holidays.
The incoming Paralegal will be joining a committed and specialised team focussed on birth injury and complex clinical negligence claims. You will be giving additional personal assistant support to the head of our team.
Day to day duties will include:
1. Manage fee earner calendars, schedule appointments, and coordinate meetings
2. Prepare legal documents, including forms of authority, correspondence, and court filings
3. Maintain client files online and ensure all documents are organised and up to date
4. Type and proofread legal documents with accuracy and attention to detail
5. Assist with billing and invoicing processes
6. Handle incoming calls and direct them to the appropriate person or department
7. Drafting and preparing client care letters and funding arrangements
8. Handle new enquiries and take details from potential clients
9. Utilise office software such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and other relevant tools
10. Provide general administrative support, including emailing, filing, photocopying, scanning, and faxing
11. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
Applications are sought from Paralegals with at least 1 year's experience in a legal practice. Desirable experience would be to have some experience in a clinical negligence or personal injury team.
Requirements:
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Fast and accurate typing skills
- Exceptional organisational skills with great attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Compassion and understanding with clients
