An exciting and rewarding opportunity has arisen within Estates and Facilities for a fully qualified and experienced Plumber to join the Estates Infrastructure & Compliance team.
As a part of the Estates Infrastructure and Compliance team, you will be joining a positive and proactive team that is focused on high-quality service delivery.
As a Plumber at Sheffield Hallam, you will be responsible for providing an effective and efficient service across the University, showcasing your developed skillset across our diverse portfolio of buildings to deliver a high-quality environment for our students.
The core focus of the role is to provide reactive maintenance of our buildings. However, there is diversity within the role to work on new installations and minor projects.
The successful candidate will report to the Mechanical Services Supervisor and work alongside other plumbers and heating engineers within the Mechanical team. Our approach to working ensures you will also be able to work alongside other trades and disciplines as and when required to meet the needs of the business.
Our students are at the heart of the service we provide. We are looking for candidates to join the team that are friendly, approachable, reactive, innovative, and open to change.
Ideally, you will bring a proactive, ‘can do’ attitude to your daily activities and positive energy to the whole team so that we can continue to meet and exceed our students’ expectations. The successful candidate will be expected to work collaboratively to deliver a professional, inclusive, and responsive service.
The Infrastructure and Compliance team is responsible for all elements of planned, reactive, remedial maintenance and statutory compliance, energy management, and design standards.
You will be contractually enrolled into the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) - one of the largest and most generous defined benefit pension schemes in the country.
If you are, or have been, a recent member of the Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS) directly prior to joining us, you can choose to opt out of the TPS and remain in the USS. Please contact the Pensions team to discuss options available.
