We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated pharmacist to join our Aseptic Pharmacy team as the Accountable Pharmacist at Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust Pharmacy Department. The post holder will manage and provide support to deliver chemotherapy items to our patient groups, both bought in and prepared in-house, being responsible for ensuring all aspects of GMP are maintained and followed. You will work closely with QA to manage aseptics aspects of the Pharmaceutical Quality System. We are proud to have been awarded a 'Low' risk rating at our last regulatory audit, and you will work with the Aseptic services Team and QA to maintain this risk rating. You will lead and develop the other team members within the Pharmacy Aseptics team.
Main duties of the job
You must have hospital pharmacy experience involving clinical pharmacy skills as well as experience of working in aseptic services. This role requires the ability to work effectively as part of a team, through excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to motivate yourself and others to achieve common goals. To be successful in this application you will demonstrate confidence as a senior pharmacist and be a role model to staff.
Main duties of the role are:
1. To act as the Accountable Pharmacist for the RBFT Aseptic pharmacy unit.
2. To work closely with the Lead Aseptic services technician to manage the unit and allocated staff ensuring that a safe and efficient service is provided.
3. To work closely with the Senior Pharmacist QA & Aseptics to develop the pharmacy aseptic services to meet the future needs of key stakeholders.
4. To liaise with Quality Assurance (QA) staff to ensure the unit Quality Management Systems are updated and maintained at all time.
5. To provide expert pharmaceutical care to Oncology and Haematology patients.
6. To act as the pharmacy competency assessor and pharmacy trainer for Intrathecal chemotherapy and contribute to the further development of the Trust Intrathecal chemotherapy policy.
7. To liaise with the clinical trials team and provide advice on aspects of clinical trials within oncology, haematology and aseptic services.

Person Specification
Education/ Qualifications
* Masters Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent (from an accredited University registered with GPhC).
* Current registered practising Member of GPhC.
* Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy, MSc or other Clinical Postgraduate qualification or equivalent experience.
* Independent prescriber or willing to work towards one.
* MSc in Pharmaceutical Technology and Quality Assurance.
Experience
* Substantial Hospital Pharmacy experience of which a significant amount has been within an acute UK hospital environment.
* Experience of working in an aseptic preparation unit.
* Interacted with auditors during regulatory assessments.
* Experience of managing a team in a senior position.
* Experience of managing clinical trials in aseptic services.
* Writing GMP documentation.
* Knowledge of drug funding in the NHS.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
* QA and QC practices.
* Good knowledge of GMP.
* Ability to plan and complete tasks/projects.
* Knowledge of risk management in the NHS.
* Experience in oncology or haematology.
