Role Overview:
A major contractor is recruiting multiple Civil Engineers for a major civil engineering project which is located in North Wales, in the Porthmadog area.
The project is due to operate a 2-shift pattern and a shift premium will apply (tbc) while in operation. The project will consider candidates with different levels of experience, and they do not have to have tunnelling experience, but this is desirable.
The company anticipate a base salary + car/car allowance + shift premium (when in operation) and potential accommodation.
In addition, the company is offering a significant subsistence allowance in the region of £14k per annum.
The project involves major tunnelling and the construction of two large shafts and associated civil engineering works.
This project has a lengthy life cycle with completion not anticipated until circa 2029.
In addition, there are other engineering positions on the project that are not shift related and would attract more traditional hours.
Duties include:
Setting out with surveying equipment (GPS & Robotic Total Stations)
Manage all engineering activity providing direction to the direct workforce and subcontractors
Quality control to ensure the standards are met in accordance to the design specifications
Assist in producing permits to break ground (CAT Scanning management)
Ensuring the highest health, safety and environmental standards are met on site adhering to the client's and business's requirement
Liaise with the site team to approve materials ensuring they meet specification
Keep accurate records of progress reports, site diaries and resource allocations
Produce as-built drawings in AutoCAD
