The Connexin Live
Connexin Live is a state-of-art music and events complex with a capacity of up to 4,000 people. The venue hosts concerts and live events and features an array of bars, lounges, premium seating and hospitality suites including the Connexin Lounge.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the effective delivery of the technical and production aspects of events at the venue. This role involves supporting the technical delivery of all events, managing venue turnarounds, and providing reactive maintenance during event delivery. The candidate will supervise the house crew during turnarounds, always ensuring a high level of service delivery.
You will be responsible for:
1. The technical delivery of events in the main auditorium and all associated breakout spaces within the building.
2. Assisting with support during events, load in and load outs both internally and externally and acting as event engineer including the installation of temporary power, operation of the building’s sound and lighting systems and event time reactive maintenance.
3. Assisting with the advancing of events at Connexin Live, liaising with promoters, tour managers and event organisers.
4. Assisting the senior technician in the development and delivery of training for relevant staff.
5. Assist the senior technician in maintaining relevant risk assessments and safe systems of work in line with Health and Safety Legislation and approved codes of practice.
6. To ensure the use of all PPE provided when required for working activities in line with method statements and safe systems of work.
7. Promote a positive health and safety culture and ensure all work activities comply with ASM Global Health and Safety policies.
Skills and Qualifications:
You will have:
8. Experience working in an events-based environment, ideally within a similar multi-purpose space with a mixed programme.
9. An ability to work without supervision and take responsibility for problem solving fault-finding and repairs as required.
10. An awareness of Health and Safety issues regarding production and stage production.
11. Experience of maintaining technical equipment to a high standard, both proactively and reactively.
12. Excellent IT knowledge including use of MS Office packages
13. A passion about service delivery standards and keen to lead by example.
14. A working knowledge of the statutory requirements relevant to live events.
15. An understanding of electrical safety relevant to the live events industry.
Desirable:
16. Experience in the use of AutoCAD to interpret technical drawings.
17. Experience of DANTE audio networks
18. Experience of event lighting including DMX, Art-Net and sACN.
19. Recent counterbalance Forklift Truck training.
20. Knowledge of BS7909 in relation to electrical systems and willingness to undertake further training.
Additional Points:
Due to the nature of the role, there will be a requirement to work weekends, evenings and public holidays. The role will involve physical labour tasks including manual handling.
There may be a requirement to work at other venues operated by ASM Global.
