Minster, a leading building materials distributor in Northern Europe, is on the hunt for a Regional Director covering multiple sites across the South Region of the UK.
Job Purpose
Creates and delivers strategic business plan for the Region, driving results through inspiring and developing high-performance teams. Collaborates with peers within Brand and Support Functions to deliver profitable growth for Minster. Elevates the company's image and reputation in the market while supporting the development of future strategies
Role Responsibilities
Create and implement regional business strategy including investment and growth plans, aligned with brand strategy and adapted to local market dynamics to deliver targeted sales and profitability.
Provide strong leadership, direction and coaching to branch managers/directors and regional teams to ensure high levels of performance, collaboration and engagement
Build strong personal relationships with customers and suppliers, staying abreast of changes in markets, customers, and technologies
Embrace, lead, and drive successful implementation of company change programs and new initiatives
Collaborate closely with Sales and Commercial teams to identify new opportunities, develop brand initiatives and deliver a differentiated customer value proposition
Continually review operating efficiencies and business KPIs and drive initiatives to ensure consistent delivery of excellent customer service
Work closely with HR Business Partner to develop a robust people plan for the Region, ensuring strength and depth of managerial capability
Play active role in recruitment of critical vacancies and development of talent pipeline
Work closely with relevant STARK UK central functions to define and execute priority activities across Commercial (Category) and Marketing.
Ensure company policies, procedures and specific areas of focus (colleague and customer engagement) are well-communicated, understood and implemented effectively across the region
Demonstrate personal responsibility for own and team safety and promote safe and sustainable working practices across the business
Deliver short-term/one-off projects and activities as required by and to the standards and outcomes agreed with MDWhat's in it for you?

Required Skills and Experience
Demonstrable success in leading multiple branches within specialist distribution, merchanting or related sectors with a track record of delivering financial results and exceeding KPIs
Experience of coaching, developing and managing remote/multi-site teams to deliver results
Ability to develop and implement strategic business plans
Ability to lead change at pace, giving clear direction and coaching to ensure changes are sustained and managing performance where required.
Strong commercial acumen, analytical skills and thorough understanding of the sector and how to meet needs of core customer base
Excellent negotiation, interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills. Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels.
Excellent stakeholder management and ability to work cross-functionally
Bachelor degree in business or related discipline
