Our client is a leading player in the Oil & Gas sector and is currently seeking a Construction Manager to join their team based in Runcorn. This is a permanent staff role with a hybrid working pattern and potential frequent travel to project sites. You will work within a resourceful and creative environment alongside a highly talented team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Act as Principal Contractor in accordance with CDM 2015 (Construction Design and Management) regulations, ensuring responsibilities are discharged correctly.
* Support the Project Manager with the development of the programme to ensure all construction activities are planned and managed appropriately.
* Support project QHSE to ensure the highest level of health and safety throughout construction activities.
* Ensure construction risks are identified and managed to minimise project impact through reviews and client-specific safety meetings.
* Manage construction information like records and drawings in accordance with Quality Management Systems.
* Lead and manage the construction team and sub-contractors to deliver project objectives.
* Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle, particularly during construction stages.
* Provide expertise and oversight during tender evaluations and oversee the development of construction estimates and budget management.
* Provide construction support during commissioning phases as required.
* Report regularly to the Project Manager and senior leadership on progress, risks, and issues.
* Lead all construction-specific meetings, workshops, and discussions.
Job Requirements:
* Extensive experience in EPC projects operating under NEC4 forms of contract, focusing on civil and construction projects.
* Demonstrable experience in delivering complex construction projects, ideally within the Oil & Gas Industry, under CDM 2015 Regulations.
* HND/C or higher in a relevant discipline such as construction or civils.
* Proven ability to manage subcontractors and oversee site execution.
* Strong understanding of Process Safety, including experience with Formal Process Safety Assessments such as HAZID, HAZOP, and HAZCON.
* Accredited CSCS certification or equivalent.
* SMSTS, SHEA Gas, and SCO 91 Certification (desirable).
* APMP accreditation (desirable).
* Temporary Works Coordinator certification.
* An understanding of budget management and financial controls would be beneficial.
