This is a pivotal time for The Crichton Trust as we continue to grow, innovate, and trade our way out of a period of highly volatile and global financial impacts. As a purpose-led enterprise and registered charity, we have a clear vision of how, as the custodian of The Crichton Estate, we must take the long view, 100 years forwards and back to harness the heritage of our home and connect people, place, and the past to shape the future.
This is no ordinary strategic financial role; we will need you to live our values, to be: brave, agile, ambitious, and compassionate as you deliver a critical strategic leadership role that will be at the foundation of our future sustainability and success. As our Chief Financial Officer, you will be responsible for providing
strategic leadership across finance and the broader strategic growth of The Crichton Trust, including financial planning in year, as well as taking responsibility for planning the financial sustainability of the Charity’s future strategy, considering any economic changes, the commitments of the Charity, including capital developments, and the diversification of income generation. We are a diverse and complex place-based purpose-led business that balances property management and development with a significant events, conference, and hospitality business, as well as active involvement in applied research and innovation to change how we as a community embed the wellbeing of people, place, and the planet in all we do.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, you will be responsible for the development of all necessary financial policies and procedures to ensure sound financial management and the financial compliance and reporting demanded by regulatory authorities and the Board. This role will manage the Charity’s Finance and Admin Team and take overall responsibility for the financial management of the Charity’s financial reporting and management accountancy, administration, and HR, including communication to relevant stakeholders such as The Crichton Trust Board of Trustees.
