We have an exciting opportunity for a new Head of Field Services and Installations to join our team at Microlise You will be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of field engineering, technical support, and service operations. This role is focused on ensuring the successful installation and servicing of hardware, managing technical support for customers and the business, and driving service planning and scheduling. As the Head of Field Services and Installations, you’ll play a crucial role in overseeing vehicle commissioning, technical call vetting and managing third-party contractor relationships. You’ll also take charge of P&L and budget control, ensuring efficiency and continuous improvement through proactive monitoring and data analysis. Significant industry knowledge and experience is crucial, to be able to ensure you can provide coaching and ongoing development to your direct reports. If so, we want to hear from you What you will be doing: Foster a culture of continuous improvement by implementing LEAN methodology and data-driven strategies, to streamline processes, eliminate waste, and improve efficiency Oversee the installation and servicing of hardware, ensuring high-quality execution and adherence to industry standards Develop and implement field engineering protocols and procedures to enhance service efficiency and effectiveness Conduct regular field audits to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards Provide comprehensive technical support and services to customers and the wider business, resolving issues promptly and effectively Develop and manage detailed service plans and schedules to optimize resource utilization and service delivery Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless service operations and customer satisfaction Ensure vehicles are properly commissioned once installed, meeting all technical and safety requirements Evaluate incoming customer incidents, prioritizing and directing them to appropriate technical resources Oversee profit and loss statements and budget control, ensuring financial targets are met Develop and manage the department's budget, including forecasting and financial planning, recognising cost-saving measures and efficiency improvements Implement proactive monitoring and data mining strategies to identify areas for continual improvement Ensure a positive customer experience through effective service delivery and support Develop and execute strategic plans to drive business growth and achieve organizational goals Collaborate with senior leadership to align service operations with overall business strategy. To manage the Field Engineering functions of the organisation, and should be able to propose as well as negotiate Service Contracts What we are looking for: Proven experience in a senior field engineering / field service management position Experience aligning technical and business roadmaps, managing budget and overseeing multiple engineering teams Experience of install, service and support of vehicle electronic equipment Strong track record in stakeholder management, including engaging with senior leadership teams and ability to work collaboratively with cross functional teams Excellent people management skills, with demonstrable experience driving change initiatives, and leading teams to success Experience of Service Level Agreements and Operational Schedules Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to adjust style to relevant audiences Flexible and willing to take on new challenges Engagement in all training provided Ownership and escalation management Flexible approach to working patterns and hours Full UK Driving Licence Valid Passport for travel Why Microlise?
