Description Procurement Director Summary The Global Supply Chain team consists of professionals who source, negotiate, and manage strategic suppliers, set long-term goals and objectives, define the plan to achieve these objectives, and orchestrate resources to bring value to Digital Realty. The role: A key contributor in the team to support Digital Realty’s strategy for procurement and supplier management in construction projects across Europe. Responsible for identifying and developing strategies to lower costs and increase value through strategic sourcing. A leadership position within the Global Supply Chain organization. Job Magnitude Latitude: The Procurement Director works at a high autonomy level but must also collaborate closely with members of the Global Supply Chain team, other business leaders, and the Design Engineering & Construction team. The role operates within the boundaries set by the company’s strategic business plans while influencing the creation of these plans. Authority is exercised within parameters set by the VP of Global Supply Chain and the Sr. VP of Design Engineering & Construction, including crafting appropriate supply chain and procurement strategies. The role involves executing short- and medium-range goals as part of a cross-functional team consisting of Supply Chain, Design Engineering & Construction, Legal, and Portfolio Management Group resources. Level of Impact: The Procurement Director plays a vital role in implementing and achieving the company’s strategy by focusing on supplier strategies and thought leadership. This ensures the development of unique and differentiated value propositions in the markets where Digital Realty operates, maintaining its number-one market position in EMEA. The role drives savings and efficiencies related to supplier cost, quality, and delivery of equipment for data center infrastructure. Key Roles & Responsibilities Provide leadership in the strategic sourcing of critical equipment to support Design Engineering & Construction. Align with key stakeholders to drive savings through sourcing and negotiation for data center construction projects across Europe. Develop and manage critical supplier relationships, increasing performance in delivery and service. Oversee procurement and supply chain activities related to Design Engineering & Construction in Europe. Act as a key team member and leader in developing and executing the Supply Chain & Procurement strategic plan. Manage supplier business reviews and develop performance improvement plans based on annual surveys. Forecast equipment requirements based on construction schedules in alignment with Design, Engineering, and Construction teams. Support efforts to enhance the procure-to-pay process. Contribute to the implementation of new technology related to Supply Chain & Procurement. Additional Duties and Responsibilities Define metrics and measure success. Track and report progress against objectives. Qualifications Over 10 years of experience in procurement and supply chain. Proven track record of negotiation and savings for highly technical operations and capital equipment. Extensive knowledge of contracts and legal terms related to construction projects. Expertise in managing supplier relationships aligned with global procurement strategies. Education: MBA or University Degree in engineering, business, supply chain, or other relevant disciplines.
