Veritas Education works across the Bradford area supporting primary, secondary, and SEN settings with Teaching Assistants and support staff ready for the new Academic Year in September 2024. We are currently needing multiple staff who are comfortable working on a 1:1 basis with both primary and secondary aged special educational needs children.
We have several full-time roles, supporting children with various needs, such as Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and communication needs across EYFS to KS2.
Responsibilities:
1. Working 1:1 with a child to create a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment.
2. Working within a supportive staff grouping where everyone follows the same standards and ethos.
3. Gaining first-hand experience within the SEN/SEMH sector.
4. Demonstrating effective behaviour management techniques, building rapport and trust with young SEN learners to de-escalate incidents and promote learner growth.
5. Guiding students through their learning while managing and regulating their behaviour.
Requirements:
1. A DBS on the update service or willing to apply.
2. Experience working with SEMH/SEN students with challenging behaviour.
3. Team Teach Certificate (within the last 2 years - we can also train you on this so not essential straight away).
Ideal Candidate:
1. A varied knowledge of the national curriculum and basic classroom learning strategies.
2. The ability to apply sensible and suitable behaviour management strategies when dealing with challenging/high-risk behaviour.
3. Previous experience supporting 1:1 with children from 5 years old to 11.
