For the Infrastructure department of the Communication and Information Center (kiz) we are looking for a
Project employee bwCloud3 (m/f/d)

With around 150 employees, kiz is the second largest central institution at Ulm University and provides services for research, teaching, studies and administration in the areas of library, information technology and media.
As part of the "bwCloud3" project, the existing Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) service is to be supplemented with explicit service components, thereby creating a range of value-added services, such as a connection to the campus management system or a platform for a state solution BigBlueButton (bwBBB). In addition, the aim is to improve the climate compatibility of the bwCloud through various measures, to ensure consistent IT security at a high level and to establish the bwCloud in a sustainable business model.

Your profile:
* Completed academic studies (university diploma or master's degree) in computer science or a comparable subject
* in-depth knowledge of cloud technologies (esp. OpenStack), methods of virtualization of software containers, virtualization techniques (esp. QEMU, KVM), UNIX operating systems (Linux; Debian or RedHat based), network technologies (esp. VLAN, VXLAN, IPv6) and tools for the automated administration of systems (esp. Ansible)
* Very good language skills in German and English
* Ability to work in a team, resilience, independent working style and strong communication skills
Your tasks:
* Further development and continuous operation of the nationwide cloud infrastructure
* Operation and continuous updating of the "bwCloud3" service components
* 2nd level support
* Expansion of the "bwCloud3" service offering to include Container as a Service and other offerings as required
* Procurement and development of new systems
* Continuous maintenance and servicing
