Job Purpose:
The Locum Specialist Registrar will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical care in their area of specialty under the supervision of a Consultant. The role involves diagnosing, treating, and managing patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings. You will also be expected to participate in teaching, training, and research activities as needed. This is an Agency locum post and candidates must be available to start ASAP. Key Responsibilities:
* Clinical Care:
o Provide specialist care and management of patients in your specialty.
o Assess, plan, and deliver care plans for patients.
o Perform clinical assessments, diagnoses, and treatments with guidance from senior clinicians.
o Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated care.
o Respond to emergencies and participate in on-call duties as required.
o Ensure all patient records are accurate and up to date.
* Teaching & Training:
o Supervise and support junior doctors and other healthcare professionals.
o Participate in the teaching and training programs for medical students and junior staff.
* Research & Development:
o Engage in clinical audits and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
o Stay up to date with current clinical practices and new guidelines in your specialty.
* Communication:
o Provide clear and concise communication with patients and their families.
o Liaise with colleagues across different departments and levels to ensure continuity of care.
o Contribute to patient discharge summaries and referrals when needed.
* Governance & Safety:
o Adhere to NHS Trust guidelines and policies regarding patient safety, infection control, and data protection.
o Participate in mandatory training and regular appraisals.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Essential:
o Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
o Full GMC Registration with a license to practice.
o Must have completed core training (CST/CT2) or equivalent.
o At least 3 years of postgraduate clinical experience in a relevant specialty.
o Proficiency in written and spoken English.
* Desirable:
o Membership of the Royal College of Physicians/Surgeons or equivalent (MRCP, MRCS, etc.).
o Relevant experience within the NHS.
o Experience in conducting clinical audits or research.

Pay: £58.98-£95.74 per hour
