You will need to be organised and efficient with the ability to proactively engage with others, directly providing advice and support to a combination of professionals and members of the public, committed to providing excellent levels of customer service. This is a varied role that, for the right candidate can provide additional development opportunities. In this job you will: 1. To receive, receipt and enter Building Regulation applications, entering data within the service database and document management systems, plotting the same on the relevant GIS Systems. Provide the customer with acknowledgement of receipt. To ensure that all maintained data is correct and accurate as required by corporate standards. 2. To follow financial procedures including receipting orders for safeguarding related equipment, stationery, rail and hotel travel and training. Chase payment for outstanding debts. Maintaining accurate records to monitor and record expenditure and record income in respect of Building Control income and the receipt of applications for the Council. 3. To act as a single point of contact for developers and elected members particularly for enquiries and communications. Managing case by case workload, seeking advice and responding to customers appropriately. Chasing professional officers for decisions, ensuring responses are issued within agreed timelines 4. Undertake a range of tasks supporting the Building Control Manager including making appointments, drafting correspondence, updating databases, arranging meetings, taking minutes, creating agendas, managing diaries. 5. On request undertake the preparation of statistical information and reports, collating, researching, and analysing data and presenting results in a clear, concise format for the management team, including annual statutory returns 6. Respond to email enquiries and incoming calls from colleagues, members of the public and elected members and in the case of more complex enquiries pass to appropriate professional officer The job holder may be required at any time to undertake any work up to and/or at a level consistent with existing responsibilities. These tasks may be at any location in Cheshire East, to ensure the effective deployment of labour, materials, transport and equipment to meet daily service requirements.
