An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our dedicated staff team and really make a difference to our communities!
Established in 2018, Queensberry AP provide workshops and direct intervention to young people and families alongside training to professionals to tackle child exploitation and youth violence. We are a small, dedicated and extremely passionate organisation that aims to educate, raise awareness and tackle the root causes of exploitation/youth violence to bring about positive change to the lives of the young people and families we support. We are commissioned by the Cheshire Police and Crime Commissioner and Cheshire West and Chester Council to help reduce exploitation and youth violence across the Cheshire locality.
Our programmes of support cover topic areas such as child exploitation (criminal and sexual), drugs, knife crime, gangs and serious youth violence. We are seeking like-minded, highly-motivated individuals who are passionate about helping young people reach their full potential through a range of interventions and packages of support.
You will be working with a team of highly experienced staff members and alongside volunteers including ex-offenders with lived experiences of the subject matter.
We are looking for applicants with experience working with young people in educational and community settings, ideally with a local knowledge of the Cheshire area, to support young people aged 10-18 years of age. The successful candidates will be responsible for delivering 1:1 mentoring and group programmes in schools and community based settings.
We are currently looking to fill two positions within our organisation, both on a fixed term contract initially for 12 months:
School-based Specialist Youth Worker (Term time only - Salary pro-rata)
Community based Specialist Youth Worker (Full time)
As a Specialist Youth Worker you will be experienced in trauma informed practices and have a good level of understanding of the impact past experiences have upon a young persons engagement and be able to demonstrate that you can overcome these barriers to ensure the successful delivery of intervention. You will be able to manage your own caseload effectively and be able to continually assess the young people you are working with to ensure they receive the very highest level of support and respond appropriately to any ongoing concerns that may impact negatively upon their engagement and development. Specialist Youth Workers will have a knowledge and understanding of Contextual Safeguarding and Restorative Practices to support them in their role.
The deadline for applications is Friday 18th April 2025
