Are you passionate about supporting students with special educational needs (SEN)? We are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join our team in Berkeley, Gloucestershire. About the Role
As an SEN TA, you will work closely with teachers and staff to support students who have a range of special educational needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and other learning and behavioural challenges. You will play an essential part in creating a positive learning environment, assisting students in overcoming barriers and engaging with their education.
Key Responsibilities
1. Student Support: Provide one-on-one and group support to help students with SEN access the curriculum, focusing on individual needs and fostering independence.
2. Behavioural Guidance: Use positive reinforcement and behaviour management strategies to create a safe, inclusive, and encouraging classroom environment.
3. Collaboration: Work alongside teachers, SENCo, and other staff to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs.
4. Progress Tracking: Monitor and report on student progress, sharing insights and feedback to support continuous improvement and development.
5. Promote Inclusion: Encourage a school culture where every child feels valued and supported.

1. Previous Experience: Experience working with children with SEN is highly valued, though a commitment to supporting young people is the most important.
2. Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to engage effectively with students, teachers, and parents to support each child's development.
3. Patience and Empathy: A compassionate approach to working with children who may face challenges in the classroom.
4. Adaptable and Flexible: Willingness to adjust support techniques based on individual student needs and classroom dynamics.
