Sizewell C will create a 3.2-gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for at least 60 years. It will be built next to Sizewell B which began operating in 1995 and has so far avoided more than 76 million tonnes of carbon emissions.
What you'll be doing
As a Senior Project Manager (HVAC), you will have the following accountabilities:
* Take responsibility for delivering a defined scope for engineering and procurement activities.
* Be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of complex high value equipment supply contracts and for ensuring they meet the needs of the SZC project.
* Be responsible for coordinating the multi-disciplinary team to provide the necessary input to the contract delivery.
* Manage the relationships with Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers.
* Prepare with the multidisciplinary team the ITT packs required to procure equipment supply contracts (terms & conditions, contractual appendices and technical specifications).
* Manage internal interfaces (between contracts and systems) and external interfaces (between programme scopes) to ensure a coordinated approach to design and delivery.
* Manage early engagement with stakeholders (including equipment suppliers) to identify obsolescence issues and other risks to the replication of HPC.
* Ensure that lessons-learnt and knowledge-capture are practiced as business as usual.
* Define the work scope to be delivered within the contract or package of work and the interfaces to the other elements of the programme.
* Drive the delivery of the contract or package activities to ensure they are delivered safely, on time, to budget, meeting business & technical requirements.
* Ensure that contract or package contractual requirements are fulfilled.
Who we're looking for
We're looking for:
* Previous project management experience.
* Experience of the pre-tender and tender stages of procuring contracts for the design, manufacturing and/or installation of industrial equipment.
* Experience of project management/supply management of NEC3/4 contracts.
* Good understanding of the complexity of major projects, including interface management between scope areas.
* Experience of managing multi-disciplinary delivery teams and successfully coordinating multi-disciplinary design/procurement work and driving design/procurement teams to deliver on time.
* Project management or project engineering experience, from concept to handover.
* Background in mechanical, electrical, process, systems or civil engineering for large industrial plants.
* Demonstrate specific success in managing / developing:
- Engineering design, contract and field execution strategies for project delivery,
- Multi-discipline EPCC projects,
- Procurement and management of complex contracts,
- Control of costs; risk; schedule and change and proficient in the use of Earned Value tools,
- Close out of commercial claims and the associated negotiations.
