Multi-Trade Operative
Chester

We have an opportunity for a Multi-Trade Operative to join our Planned and Minor Works team based in Chester. As part of the team, you will work alongside another Operative covering numerous sites across the North West region including Chester, Liverpool, Manchester and Stoke. We are looking for a candidate who is qualified and experienced in one of the following trades with proficiency in at least one other trade; joinery, plumbing or plastering. A company van will be provided along with company tools and the role will involve both team and lone working. There will be opportunities to receive additional on the job training to expand your existing skill base.
The role of Multi-Trade Operative will include:
- Attending occupied or void properties to carry out construction, fault fixing and maintenance duties
- Resolving problems or set into motion the means of resolution, ensuring customers are kept informed
- Maintaining a suitable van stock level and restocking these when needed
- Providing accurate and timely information on the progress of works that is easily understood by the customer
- You will focus mainly on larger day to day jobs, capital replacements and major revenue jobs
Skills and experiences:
- To ensure full compliance with Building Safety legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to or undertaking NVQ Level 2 in a core subject (carpentry, electrical. If Plumbing Level 3 is required, Unvented
- G3 Certificate and Water Regulations (WRAS). If you have a lower level qualification along with practical experience and would be prepared to undertake this qualification with the support of Sanctuary Group, we would still welcome an application
- Qualifications in Window and Door installation, joinery, kitchen and bathroom installation, plastering, plumbing, damp proofing, roofline and rainwater goods
- Working knowledge of the application of Health and Safety legislation
- Working experience of analysing and diagnosing problems and implementing effective solutions
- PC literate and able to use and update computerised systems (including PDA) for work scheduling
- This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence
