Job summary We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Staff Nurse (band 6) to join our dynamic team on Pelican Ward (inpatient) and Pelican Ambulatory (day care). Pelican is a busy 10 bedded inpatient ward that specialises in the management of children and young people with Rheumatology, Dermatology, Immunology, and Infectious Disease conditions. Our Ambulatory day case area specialises in biologic infusions for both Rheumatology and Immunology patients. We also carry out joint injections, skin biopsies and day case surgery. We care for patients ranging in age from neonates to adolescent. Our patients require a varied input of nursing care from both low to high dependency and have both surgical and medical requirements. We are looking for registered nurses with excellent paediatric clinical skills who are well-motivated, have exceptional communication capabilities, time management skills and a passion to develop their knowledge. Main duties of the job As a Senior Staff Nurse in our team, your contributions will be valued and recognised.There are many opportunities to learn new clinical skills such as venepuncture and cannulation, PICC line removals, administering Entonox and level 1 chemotherapy.
