Job Title: Supply Chain Manager Salary: £65,000 to £75,000Here at Hays, working with a global manufacturer based in Middlesborough for the recruitment of a Supply Chain Manager to join the operations team, this is a permanent opportunity, paying £70,000 per year. You will be managing an established team, and the right candidate will have a background in a leadership role. The Supply Chain Manager (SCM) is responsible for overseeing and managing the company's overall supply chain and logistics strategy and operations to maximise process efficiency and productivity. This role involves developing and implementing supply chain strategies, managing supplier and customer relationships, and ensuring the timely delivery of products and services. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement supply chain strategies aligned with business objectives. Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and ensure quality and cost-effectiveness. Oversee logistics operations, including warehousing, distribution, and transportation. Manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels and minimise costs. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies. Manage Chemical Procurement, Engineering Procurement, Total Waste Management, Operational Planning, Supplier Contracts, Engineering Stores, and Shipping. Lead and develop the supply chain team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Monitor and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement. Ensure all Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements are met, including workplace organisation, risk assessments, and housekeeping standards. Skills & Qualifications: Education:Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (a recognised Supply Chain/Procurement qualification is desirable). Experience:Minimum of 10 years in supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role (experience in a Chemical or Engineering operational environment is desirable). Key Skills:Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and negotiation abilities, proficiency in supply chain software and tools, and a deep understanding of supply chain processes and best practices.
