We have exciting opportunities for nurses or midwives to work in centres across Aylesbury, Reading and Maidenhead.
19 hours per week to be worked in clinic 8am 6pm Aylesbury, Reading and Maidenhead 1 in 4 Saturdays, with the option of adding 19 hours Hybrid completing telephone consultations.
We are looking for nurses/midwives who can deliver safe and effective care of clients wanting to access consultation for unplanned pregnancy, surgical and medical abortions, contraception and sexual health services for women.
You will need to be able to fulfil an integral role within our multidisciplinary team delivering a confidential abortion service. You will need to be motivated, enthusiastic, caring and empathetic. Pro-choice is a must.
Main duties of the job
1. To deliver safe and effective care of patients from admission to discharge in accordance with Healthcare Commission Standards, NMC Guidelines for Professional Practice and company policies and procedures.
2. Ensure the clients are aware of their options.
3. Undertake consultations including the discussion and confirmation of treatment options.
4. Perform ultrasound scanning in first and second stage trimester.
5. Discuss contraceptive options and provide/fit contraception in accordance with guidelines NUPAS policies.
6. Appropriately consent clients for treatment/procedures.
7. Provide information on STI Screening.
8. Identify safeguarding concerns.
9. Check details on client notes and alert Doctor/surgeon/anaesthetist to any significant conditions.
10. Ensure clients are informed about aftercare prior to discharge.
11. Provide confidential telephone advice for clients with post-operative problems following discharge.
12. Complete contemporaneous client records, consent and registers.
This is a hybrid role with a combination of working in clinic and working from home providing telephone consultations. Working one in four Saturdays.

Qualifications
* Current Nurse and or Midwifery Council NMC registration as a Registered Nurse Sub part 1 of the NMC register Registered Midwife.
* Ultrasound scanning experience in first and second stage trimester.
* Up to date knowledge and experience of working in a sexual health TOP or Gynaecological service.
* Faculty of Reproductive Sexual Healthcare (FSRH Letter of Competence in intrauterine techniques i.e. IUS and or IDU fitter and Insertion and removal of Subdermal Implants SDI).
* Recognised qualification in Independent/Supplementary Prescribing.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
