While on-call, the post-holder will be expected to do a ward round each morning of emergency patients (including Saturday and Sunday) and will have access to a daily NCEPOD theatre. We have an active Surgical Assessment Unit and aim to provide ambulatory and outpatient surgical emergency care where possible. On-call and elective work is supported by a full complement of junior doctors (on rotation from HEE West Midlands and locally employed) and a team of ACPs.
