What you'll be doing:
1. Clinical Practice: Assessing, diagnosing, and managing a diverse range of mental health conditions in young people.
2. Prescribing: Independently prescribing medications within your scope of practice, ensuring safe and effective treatment.
3. Collaboration: Working closely with colleagues in Specialist Eating Disorder Services and First Episode Psychosis teams to provide seamless care.
4. Supervision and Mentorship: Supporting, supervising, and mentoring junior staff members, fostering a positive and supportive learning environment.
5. Training and Development: Actively participating in training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
6. Service Improvement: Contributing to the ongoing development and improvement of our services.

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Non-Medical Prescriber (NMP) to join our team. This pivotal role focuses on enhancing patient care through timely medication reviews, reducing waiting times, and ensuring optimal treatment outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct comprehensive medication reviews and prescribe appropriate treatments.
2. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualised care plans.
3. Provide supervision and mentoring to junior staff, fostering a supportive learning environment.
4. Participate in complex case discussions, offering expert insights and recommendations.
5. Support the senior leadership team in strategic planning and service development.
Essential Qualifications:
1. Registered healthcare professional with NMP qualification.
2. Extensive experience in psychiatric care and medication management.
3. Strong clinical decision-making skills and ability to work autonomously.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Person Specification
Qualifications
1. Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN Qualification)
2. Nurse Prescribing Qualification
3. Evidence of ongoing training and development
4. Post-graduate training in mental health
5. Management certificate/qualification
6. ECDL (European Computer Driving Licence) or equivalent
Experience
1. Experience of clinical work within mental health
2. Substantial experience at band 6 or above
3. Working on own initiatives and as part of a team
4. Staff management and supervision
5. Some experience as working as a nurse prescriber
6. Organisation and delivery of education and training
7. Experience of clinical work within Older Adults
Knowledge
1. Understanding of issues relating to medication management, recognition of influences of local and national guidance
2. Understanding of interventions for mental health and models of good practice
3. Understanding of clinical governance in relation to service delivery
4. Effective written and oral communication and liaison skills
5. Effective organisation and management skills
6. Knowledge and understanding of the framework in which NHS and Social Services Operate
7. Presentation skills/ability to deliver training
8. Understanding of performance management and ability to develop monitoring systems
