Description
Overview:
We are seeking a new team member to work 1:1 with our client in their own home on the outskirts of Edenbridge. Supporting day-to-day you will help the client achieve their personal goals and pursue their interests whilst providing clinical and personal care support.
The client:
You would be working with a gentleman in his 30s who has a passion for everything fitness and physical wellbeing. With typical days spent between the gym, swimming pool, trampolining, massage, yoga and his home you would be someone who is keen to share and encourage these passions. Alongside this, you would attend art sessions as well as access the community together in order to attend shows at the theatre (primarily musical comedy), go shopping and meet with friends.
Our client has clinical needs due to his quadriplegic cerebral palsy. These include PEG feeding, medication administration and moving and handling. He communicates via eye movement or typing on his iPad.
Hours available:
We are able to offer 1 x 24 hour shift fortnightly on a Saturday. This shift would begin at 8am on a Saturday morning and end at 8am on a Sunday morning and would involve a waking day followed by a sleeping night.
This 24-hour period has a full shift rate of £395.84.
Ideal candidate:
* Someone active, energetic and willing to get stuck in, specifically someone happy to swim and support with gym equipment
* Someone who can hold a meaningful, engaging conversation with a good sense of humour
* Someone who is confident in their capabilities and willing to listen, learn and adapt their focus and expectations to prioritise our client
* Someone keen to be in the community and access new settings
* Someone seeking to build a meaningful professional relationship built on trust
* Someone compassionate and kind who will empower and support our client
* Someone self-motivated and able to work under their own initiative
