Description: We’ve got an exciting new opportunity for an enthusiastic, commercially focused individual to join our Revenue Management team as we look to continue to optimise the ‘staycation effect’ in our portfolio of UK self-catering properties. If you are keen to pursue a career in revenue management, our sector could offer you all the excitement you have been looking for, the opportunity to work with a challenging and varied portfolio of products, including Lodges, Cottages, Boats, and Holiday Parks.
The Role: You will be a key commercial strategist in our organisation, responsible for the development and implementation of inventory and pricing propositions for our Cottages.com portfolio. Using market data to analyse demand and competitor activity, you will make pricing and commercial strategies/recommendations with the aim of increasing market share and maximising the revenues of our portfolio of suppliers. You will champion our RevMax service and support ongoing development of Awaze’s industry leading revenue management technology.
What you’ll be doing: You’ll pride yourself on your analytical and communication skills, ensuring that all parties are aligned and we are delivering the best commercial results to our suppliers. Using our revenue management system and other revenue management tools, you will be responsible for improving the performance of our individual property products. You will add new pricing information onto our systems and ensure that you are tracking and reporting on the output of pricing changes. You will develop strong commercial relationships with our product suppliers and hold regular meetings (both virtually and face to face) with them to ensure revenues are optimised and relationships developed, making sure we are set for continued mutual success. You will love the UK and have a passion for developing your knowledge of regional sales, revenue, and occupancy performance; once you have layered on competitor trends, you will use this knowledge to communicate our trading position to key stakeholders.
Key skills we need:
* You’ll have experience in a commercial role with the desire to continually improve business performance.
* You’ll bring 3 years of revenue management experience.
* You’re commercially astute with proven analytical skills.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to construct compelling business cases and encourage open dialogue, whilst building relationships.
* A naturally inquisitive personality as the role will provide the hands-on opportunity to learn industry leading revenue management techniques.
* Experience in working in a fast-paced environment, delivering results against targets.
* You’re passionate about travel and, in particular, UK holidays.
* Ideally, you’ll have had some experience of working within leisure/travel.
If you’re excited by working in a fast-paced environment, are obsessed by all things customer, and want to join us on our journey, we’d love to chat.
What we’ll give you: This is an opportunity for you to join us at a pivotal point in time as we invest in our future. You’ll be joining a team of genuine, passionate people. You’ll have the freedom to decide on the best way of working to get the job done. We work cross-functionally, so you’ll be given opportunities to develop skills outside of your core skillset. We offer a great salary and fantastic benefits; we’re all about holidays, so we practise what we preach and offer some great travel discounts. We offer flexible working hours. We’d also offer you private medical cover and life assurance – of course we hope you won’t need these, but we want to offer you security.
What else do you need to know? We want to make the application process as stress-free as possible, so typically we’ll have an informal chat with you on the phone, followed by a comprehensive interview in our Manchester office, where you’ll have a chance to find out a bit more about the exciting things we’re doing (and maybe tell us what we’re doing wrong). We want to hear about your favourite (and least favourite) projects, what makes you tick, and why.
We believe in equal opportunities and aim to create a team that is representative of our society, knowing that embracing differences enhances the capabilities of our business and makes for a happy place to work. We are proud to recognise and celebrate that we have a diverse culture where employees are accepted for who they are, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, or ability.
