Job Title: Section Engineer
A highly technical and challenging opportunity has arisen to work on a major £200 million heavy Civil Engineering project in North Wales. Our client, the principal contractor delivering this scheme in the Snowdonia National Park, is seeking an experienced Section Engineer to join their team.
The project involves the removal of existing pylons and the construction of 3.4km of tunnel to carry electricity cabling. As Section Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth delivery of this complex project.
Key Responsibilities:
* Procure materials and resources to support the programme of works, monitoring stock levels and arranging restocking as required.
* Maintain a working knowledge of subcontractors' scopes of work, identifying and reporting any changes or delays.
* Produce and issue technical queries to resolve design issues, distributing responses to relevant parties.
* Manage junior staff, overseeing their workload to ensure timely completion of works.
* Develop and maintain detailed programmes of planned works, including subcontractor schedules.
* Review progress against programme, identifying areas of variance and implementing corrective actions.
* Evaluate and implement necessary permits, inductions, task briefs, and documentation before commencing work.
Our client requires a Section Engineer with:
* Previous experience in TBM / Tunnel engineering.
* A valid CSCS card.
* An excellent understanding of commercial and contractual requirements.
* Strong communication skills.
* A HND/HNC/Degree in Civil Engineering.
Salary and benefits include:
* £45,000 - £50,000 plus 15% shift uplift (£51,750 - £57,500).
* £5,000 car allowance or company vehicle.
* Up to £14,000 accommodation subsistence (taxable) depending on location.
