Software Development Engineer II, Direct Fulfilment

As a software engineer on the team, you will be responsible for the technical design and implementation of solutions that enable our Direct Fulfillment (DF) model. DF allows vendors to ship products directly to customers on behalf of Amazon. This requires building systems that can reliably work end-to-end for emerging and global marketplaces and enable seamless customer experiences. Key job responsibilities
1. Designing and developing highly reliable, scalable, and distributed systems.
2. Delivering quality features on-time and execution against project plans and delivery commitments.
3. Working with team members to manage the day-to-day development activities, participate in designs, design review, code review, implementation, and operational excellence.
4. Engaging and working with customers and dependencies to ensure the quality delivery.
5. Mentoring other engineers.
6. Maintaining current technical knowledge to support rapidly changing technology, always on a lookout for new technologies and work with the team in bringing in new technologies.
7. Launching products to India as well as world-wide marketplaces.
About the team
Direct Fulfillment (DF), known in the industry as "dropship," is a fulfillment model that allows vendors to ship orders directly to the Customer. The offer is branded as Ships and Sold by Amazon and the customer service experience is the same as items sold from Amazon Fulfillment centers, such that the customer does not know the difference. DF was launched in India (IN) on Oct 2018. Our vision: “provide customers with the widest possible retail selection while maintaining a superior experience for vendors and cost structure for Amazon”.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
1. 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
2. 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
3. Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience.
2. Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent.
3. Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence.
