Job Description
Oxford Royale is seeking a Course Development Projects Manager to oversee the development of teaching and student learning materials for both new and existing courses. In this role, you will manage the process of working with external contractors to develop these materials, ensuring that expert Course Developers, material reviewers, and proofreaders are contracted. You will ensure that all projects are conducted to the required standards and timelines. To maintain Oxford Royale's high academic standards, you will monitor the progress of course development projects by conducting regular reviews of submitted materials and holding feedback meetings with Course Developers and other contractors. Additionally, you will report progress to the Academic Operations Manager and complete edits to finalise materials as required.
Key Responsibilities:
* Recruit, onboard and train externally contracted Course Developers.
* Manage the external course development process and workflow.
* Manage Course Developers throughout the projects, ensuring they are adhering to project timelines.
* Conduct reviews of the deliverables submitted by Course Developers for content, structure and adherence to Oxford Royale's academic standard and provide feedback during regular review meetings.
* Manage the course material review process, including recruiting, contracting and managing external contractors.
* Recruit for, contract and manage external proofreading of the final teaching and learning materials.
* Plan for and collaborate with the wider Academic Operations team to ensure materials are reviewed and finalised to the required standards before printing.
* Proofread, edit and rewrite teaching and learning materials as required.
* Report course development project progress, feedback and contents to the Academic Operations Manager.
* Support the delivery of the courses during the summer programmes as required.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
* Strong project planning skills and experience.
* Highly organised and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
* Experience of recruiting and managing subject-matter experts and contractors.
* Relationship management skills with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to provide feedback and project reports.
* Proactive and able to follow own initiative, challenging self and others to create solutions and strive for improved ways of working.
* Demonstrable problem-solving skills.
* Keen interest in education.
Desirable Experience:
* Experience of working in an educational organisation.
* Experience in academic material or course content development and management across a range of subjects.
* Experience of writing for different audiences.
* Wide-ranging subject knowledge, experience and/or interest that ranges across Oxford Royale's suite of programmes.
* Experience working with Canva design software.
* Experience managing a budget.
Position Details:
* Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (9:00 AM to 5:30 PM). Weekend and evening work may be required, including during the summer school.
* Role: Permanent
* Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum depending on experience
* Location: Based at our Oxford office (OX4), with hybrid working options available upon agreement with HR
* Holiday Entitlement: 32 days of annual leave, inclusive of bank holidays
* Reporting: to the Academic Operations Manager
