One YMCA Youth Clubs are for young people aged 9 to 18. You will be responsible for running an existing youth club, taking on projects and opening a new club in the area surrounding Hatfield.
Reporting to the Youth Work Coordinator, a Senior Youth Worker facilitates the delivery of a range of outreach and centre-based youth work with young people aged 9-18 years in line with the YMCA Youth Work Strategy and Principles.
The Role:
1. Assist with the development of Universal youth work activities for young people in line with Strategy.
2. Work with Lead Airplay and Youth Worker to ensure that information, support and advice is provided to young people, through information sharing with key partners.
3. Plan, deliver and evaluate a range of Universal youth work activities across YMCA sites and other community venues.
4. Supervise the delivery of sessional youth workers and maintain accurate records of engagements to support the monitoring, assessment and evaluation of the service, including outcomes for young people.
5. Work towards and achieve the agreed Key Performance Indicators and performance objectives for self and team and ensure a high level of service is provided at all times.
6. Provide operational cover for other areas of the Youth Team as and when required.
7. Alongside the Lead Airplay and Youth Worker and under the strategic lead of the Head of Youth Work, develop One YMCA’s Universal Youth Work offer – delivering high quality services building an offer that can be scaled up under a funded model across the region.
8. Identify needs based on potential universal youth work opportunities through building local partnerships and being well placed to respond to grant opportunities and funding streams.
Requirements:
1. Training can be given for this role, and a willingness to undertake a level 3 qualification is essential.
2. Driving and access to a car is required in this role.
3. We need you to join us on Wednesday evening and Thursday evening each week with additional time for admin built in. This amounts to 18.75 hours per week in total.
4. An Enhanced Disclosure Check is required for this role.
