About the Position
Our Community Safety team is currently seeking highly motivated and dedicated Rangers who are confident in engaging with our community and are customer-focused. In this position, you will provide community education and the enforcement of relevant Acts, Regulations, and Local Laws to improve community safety and neighborhood amenity.
This position operates on a 9-day fortnight roster and may include weekend and night shifts.
Key Responsibilities
The duties of the Ranger will include but are not limited to:
* Attending to general ranger duties including inquiries and complaints received concerning the various responsibilities undertaken by the section.
* Interpretation, administration, and enforcement of relevant Acts, regulations, and Local Laws.
* Efficiently and accurately utilize mobile computing, GPS technology, and other related systems.
* Undertaking parking patrols to encourage/achieve a high level of compliance with parking prohibitions and restrictions and to deter anti-social behavior.
* Assist with the operations of the Animal Care Facility.
* Inspecting vacant land to ensure adequate firebreaks have been cleared in accordance with provisions of the Bush Fires Act.
* Enforcing the provisions of the Litter Act and investigating complaints.
* Enforcing parking restrictions including daily (Monday to Friday) checking of clearways and schools.
About You
The following qualifications and experience are highly desired, but if you don’t tick all the boxes, you could still be a perfect fit for this role. Please apply; all applications will be considered.
* Previous experience as a Ranger or in a similar role; including experience in local government or similar law enforcement settings.
* Experience with investigations including supporting documentation.
* Experience in animal handling.
* Well-developed interpersonal communication skills, superior community engagement and customer service, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills, with experience in dealing with difficult situations.
* Knowledge of the relevant Acts, Regulations, and Local Laws applicable to Ranger Services, as well as the ability to research and interpret legislative requirements.

This permanent position is a Level 6 Inside Workforce Agreement position which attracts a salary from $85,751.72 - $90,264.87 gross pro rata per annum plus 15% shift loading and superannuation. The position also includes use of a company vehicle.
