Band 8B Principal Pharmacist (Mental Health) - Suffolk

NSFT Pharmacy department has attracted a significant new investment to support, develop, and improve our clinical pharmacy service. We are looking for a Principal Pharmacist to help us improve the safe and effective use of medicines to improve patient outcomes. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our patients.
The post-holder will be based in the Gate Lodge, Ipswich, Suffolk. This is a full-time post and will involve some travelling across different sites within Norfolk and Suffolk. NSFT has recently approved significant new investment in the pharmacy workforce. So, you will be joining a growing and enthusiastic department.
This post attracts a £3K joining bonus and potential of up to £5K relocation cost (see below for more details).
Main duties of the job
As a Principal Pharmacist, you will:
* Manage and supervise pharmacists and Medicines Management Technicians and develop a competent, motivated, and versatile clinical pharmacy workforce.
* Provide leadership for good Medicines Management to ensure and promote safe and secure handling of medicines in their clinical area of responsibility.
* Lead the Medicines Optimisation agenda to ensure and promote patient safety, treatment effectiveness, and better patient experience with treatment, embedding medicines optimisation principles in routine clinical practice.
* Work with leadership in the Trust and commissioners to support wider Trust requirements in relation to medicines management and medicines optimisation.
* Develop and implement clinical pharmacy standards and quality improvement initiatives.
* Lead the development, delivery, evaluation, and improvement of clinical pharmacy services across the Trust.
* Provide professional expertise, advice, and training to health professionals, patients, and carers.

Recruitment Premium and Relocation Cost
This post attracts a recruitment premium of £3,000 (pro-rata for part-time roles). This is a one-off payment with half paid on appointment and half paid after the completion of a satisfactory probation period (6 months). The premium is taxable. Please note that should you leave employment or choose to move to an alternative post within the Trust that does not attract this recruitment premium, you will be required to reimburse all or some of it, as follows: 100% of the value of the premium in the first 12 months; 50% of the value of the premium in the period 12 months to 2 years following appointment. Please note this recruitment premium is for external applicants only.
Relocation cost of up to £5000 is available too, subject to terms and conditions.

Qualifications
* Master's Degree in Pharmacy.
* Current registered member of General Pharmaceutical Council.
* Member of the College of Mental Health Pharmacy.
Experience
* Experience of service and staff management.
* Service evaluation and development.

£62,215 to £72,293 a year gross per annum (pro rata).
