The Linden Medical Group is seeking to further expand our fabulous reception/administration team.
We are looking to recruit an experienced, efficient, enthusiastic, highly motivated, flexible and well-organised Medical Receptionist/Administrator.
The working hours are between 25 - 30 over AM (between 8am - 1pm), PM (between 1pm - 6.30pm) and/or full day shifts.
This is an extremely busy role which requires hard work, the ability to multi-task, to deal with multiple different demands on your time, the ability to calm a situation to prevent escalation, a good sense of humour, active listening skills, the ability to fit in with an established, friendly team, the ability to prioritise to ensure all tasks are completed in a timely manner, excellent customer service skills and a smart, professional appearance.
Previous experience of the SystmOne clinical system is necessary.

About us
The Linden Medical Group is a very busy, friendly, dynamic and supportive practice comprising of 4 GP partners & 2 salaried GPs who are supported by a management team, triage nurse, 2 practice nurses, healthcare assistant, GPA and a team of medical secretaries, administrators/receptionists.
We are a training practice and frequently have medical students working with us. We also have the support of attached staff comprising of a physiotherapist, clinical pharmacists, social prescriber & mental health practitioner.
Job responsibilities
JOB TITLE: MEDICAL RECEPTIONIST/ADMINISTRATOR
REPORTS TO: Reception Line Manager
Job Summary:
Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.
Provide general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone. Additional responsibilities include maintaining computerised records.
Job Responsibilities:
1. To ensure that the Reception/Administration functioning of the practice runs smoothly and provides a high level of service to patients, doctors, nurses and other members of the practice team.
2. Telephone Duties:
1. Making appointments.
2. Taking and passing on messages.
3. Making appointments to discuss results.
4. Signposting callers to the appropriate healthcare professional.
5. Home visit requests.
6. Dealing with general enquiries.
7. Contacting patients, other team members and associated healthcare agencies and providers.
3. Reception Duties:
1. Greet and direct patients and visitors.
2. Register new patients and temporary residents.
3. Make appointments.
4. Ensure outstanding queries are explained and handed over to colleagues as necessary.
5. Respond to requests of doctors and nurses during clinics.
6. Collect payments from patients for non-NHS services.
7. Deal with general enquiries.
8. Scanning and filing.
9. Prescriptions.
10. Dealing with requests and queries relating to prescriptions.
11. Raising prescriptions as per practice protocols.
12. Processing of incoming correspondence, this involves scanning letters, adding clinical codes and attaching to the patient records - training will be provided to perform this.
13. Register new patients on to the system on a daily basis.
14. Complete electronic tasks on a daily basis.
15. Any other delegated duties considered appropriate to the post.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Good standard of general education.
* GCSE Maths grade C or above.
* GCSE English Grade C or above.
Experience
* A detailed understanding and experience of working in a general practice environment.
* Knowledge of SystmOne.
* Works effectively independently and as a member of a team.
* Flexible approach to meet service needs and ensure a stakeholder-focused response.
* Self-motivated and proactive.

* Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* General office skills, photocopier, scanning.
* Awareness of Data Protection Act and need for confidentiality of information.
* Excellent understanding of data protection and confidentiality issues. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with team members, patients, carers, and other healthcare professionals, with the ability to adjust communication style.
* Committed to own continuing personal development and an ability to support others to develop and progress.
* Attention to detail, able to work accurately, identifying errors quickly and easily.
* Commit to a DBS Check. Able to undertake the demands of the post.
* Experience of working in a medical or primary care setting.
* Computer literate with an ability to use the required GP clinical systems.
* Experience of reception work.
* Has a planned and organised approach with an ability to prioritise their own workload to meet strict deadlines.
